Washington Motorcycle safety program
The Washington Motorcycle Safety Program (WMSP) is a member of the Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators (SMSA) and uses the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum.
Goal
Our goal is to foster and promote safe motorcycle riding through quality rider training programs and public information campaigns throughout Washington.
Funding
The program is user-funded by fees from motorcycle instruction permits, endorsements, and student tuition.
Motorcycle Rider Safety Task Force
The number of motorcyclists has grown by over 75% in the last decade. At the same time, the number of fatalities and serious injuries has risen even more in Washington. Read the Final Report of the Motorcycle Rider Safety Task Force.
Advisory board
The Motorcycle Safety Education Advisory Board was created by law to help the Director of the Department of Licensing manage the motorcycle safety program.
